Team Explorer support for TLSv1.2

• We have updated the Git and the Git Credential Manager components that ship in Visual Studio.
• The optional Git for Windows component has also been updated.
• This update allows Git to connect to services that have deprecated support for TLSv1 and TLSv1.1 in favor of TLSv1.2.

Issues Fixed in this Release

These are the customer-reported issues addressed in this release:

• Projects targeting .NET Core 2.1 or newer are not supported by Visual Studio 2017 version 15.5.
• Fixed issue where installation of the SDK for .NET Core 2.1 or newer would cause the option to create ASP.NET Core 2.0 Web applications to disappear. 

Creator of Python, Guido van Rossum, has joined Microsoft as a Distinguished Engineer in the Developer Division. His stated aim is to make Python better. We can't wait to find out what that results in.  

Last week, at ng-conf, the Angular team at Google provided the web developer world with an update on the state of Angular 2. They were joined on stage by a member of the TypeScript team, Jonathan Turner, to also announce that Angular 2 will be built using TypeScript. Jonathan then demoed a preview of the upcoming TypeScript 1.5 release via an Angular 2 sample application. 

Today we released Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 CTP. Our focus for this release has been stability and performance, along with responding to feedback you’ve given us on Visual Studio 2015 RTM and Update 1. 

Today we're thrilled to announce the release of ASP.NET Core 2.1.0! This is the latest release of our open-source and cross-platform web framework for .NET and it's now ready for production use. 

The ISO C++14 draft international standard has been approved and will be published later in the year. 

As you may remember, Microsoft has removed the IE Mode feature from Microsoft Edge. THe company has limited it to enterprise customers and IT admins. They have also stated that the feature was released to the public for testing purposes only. Here is a bit of good news - you can re-enable IE Mode when needed with recent versions of Edge! 

The next version of npm, v7, has been completed and will be shipping with Node.js v15 this week. The new release adds several features requested by developers including support for Workspaces. 

A minimal, UI-focused programming language for web designers. With uilang, you write your code just like plain English, straight into your HTML using a <code> element. uilang's logic relies on manipulating classes on HTML elements and using these classes in CSS to show, hide, animate and transform elements when a click occurs. This simple logic lets designers create most of the typical user interface behaviours: tabs, popovers, overlays, sliding menus, etc.  Demo

Wow – this was probably our biggest update ever! Version 2.0 of IdentityServer4 is not only incorporating all the feedback we got over the last year, it also includes the necessary updates for ASP.NET Core 2 – and also has a couple of brand new features.
