This is the first major-version release we’ve had in about three years (Autofac 4.0 was released in August 2016). There are some breaking changes and new features you should know about as you decide your upgrade strategy. Hopefully this will help you navigate those waters. 

The gist of the story goes as follow:

1. The most popular languages are JavaScript/TypeScript and Python with roughly 20% of all pull requests each. In effect, if you put JavaScript/TypeScript and Python together, you get about 40% of all pull requests.
2. Then you get the second tier languages: Java and Scala, C/C++, and Go. They all are in the 10% to 15% range.
3. Finally, you have PHP, Ruby and C# that all manage to get about 5% of all pull requests.
4. Other languages are typically far below 5%. 

Rider 2018.3 comes with Code Vision, Rename Project refactoring, and the Assembly Explorer window. It provides support for remote debugging via SSH, Launch Settings and SQL language injections in C# code. This release improves C#, VB.NET, F#, TypeScript language support, and Angular framework support.

C# 7 is a major update with a lot of interesting new capabilities. And while there are plenty of articles on what you can do with it, there aren't quite as many on what you should do with it. Using the principles found in the .NET Framework Design Guidelines, we're going to take a first pass at laying down strategies for getting the most from these new features. 

Today we are glad to announce an alpha release of SignalR for ASP.NET Core 2.0. This is the first official release of a new SignalR that is compatible with ASP.NET Core. It consists of a server component, a .NET client targeting .NET Standard 2.0 and a JavaScript/TypeScript client.
