We’re excited to share all the new features and improvements in .NET 8 Preview 5! This release is a follow-up to the Preview 4 release. You’ll continue to see many more features show up with these monthly releases. .NET 6 and 7 users will want to follow this release closely since we have focused on making it a straightforward upgrade path. 

.NET 8 Preview 3 is now available. It includes changes to build paths, workloads, Microsoft.Extensions, and containers. It also includes performance improvements in the JIT, for Arm64, and dynamic PGO. If you missed the March preview, you may want to read the Preview 2 post. 

Microsoft's second preview of .NET 8 is just "a quick follow-up" to Preview 1, highlighted by a couple of improvements to Blazor, for creating web apps in C# instead of JavaScript.

Visual Studio 2022 17.4 has shipped, boasting first-time native support for Arm64 and working with the brand-new .NET 7.  

his is the last preview for .NET 7 and the next version will be our first release candidate (RC). 

This preview of .NET 7 includes improvements to type converters, JSON contract customization, System.Formats.Tar API updates, constraints to .NET template authoring, and performance enhancements in the CodeGen area. 

Today we released .NET 7 Preview 5. This preview of .NET 7 includes improvements to Generic Math which make the lives of API authors easier, a new Text Classification API for ML.NET that adds state-of-the-art deep learning techniques for natural language processing, various improvements to source code generators and a new Roslyn analyzer and fixer for RegexGenerator and multiple performance improvements in the areas of CodeGen, Observability, JSON serialization / deserialization and working with streams.
