We’re excited to announce general availability of F# 4.7 in conjunction with the .NET Core 3.0 release! In this post, I’ll show you how to get started, explain everything in F# 4.7 and give you a sneak peek at what we’re doing for the next version of F#.

This is a big release for the .NET Core platform because version 2 marks a significant expansion to .NET Core's capabilities.

If you maintain an open-source project in the range of 10k-200k lines of code, I strongly encourage you to add an ARCHITECTURE document next to README and CONTRIBUTING. Before going into the details of why and how, I want to emphasize that this is not another “docs are good, write more docs” advice. I am pretty sloppy about documentation, and, eg, I often use just “simplify” as a commit message. Nonetheless, I feel strongly about the issue, even to the point of pestering you:-) 

This repo contains the samples that demonstrate the API usage patterns and popular features for the Windows Presenation Foundation in the .NET Framework for Desktop. These samples were initially hosted on MSDN, and we are gradually moving all the interesting WPF samples over to GitHub.All the samples have been retargeted to .NET 4.5.2.
