One thing I wish I had understood better earlier on in my experience with PostgreSQL is how transactions and locks can be used together to provide serializable logic.
Most traditional .NET applications are deployed as single units corresponding to an executable or a single web application running within a single IIS appdomain. This approach is the simplest deployment model and serves many internal and smaller public applications very well. Overall I was very very happy with LiteDB and I particularly like the fact that is was free, and it did pretty much exactly the same as RavenDB Emebedded (sometimes it was easier to do as well).
