“A damn stupid thing to do”—the origins of C 

Build 2021 is almost here, and Microsoft has published its catalog for sessions that will be ongoing throughout the event. We've rounded up some of the most interesting ones that we think you won't want to miss. Let's dive in! 

A component licensed under LGPL can be used by closed source, proprietary software, both internally used and distributed, for free, with no effects on the software using the component. LGPL is not “contagious” in the same way as GPL, so it only affects the component under LGPL. As long as you’re only using official distributions of the component, it is free to use and free to redistribute. The only requirement is that you include a notice in your “about” page or similar that the component is used. 

After almost two years, the wait is nearly over. The API has been frozen, and the countdown to Deno 1.0, officially scheduled for release on May 13, has begun. 

ReSharper 2018.3.2 bug-fix update fixes:

- Many issues in C#, VB.NET, and TypeScript Code Analysis.
- More than a dozen issues related to parameter name hints.
- Missing “Find Code Dependent on Module” item in a context menu for a project node in the Solution Explorer tab.
- Several issues in Unit Testing.
- Some issues related to auto-detect naming style.

• Fixed an optimization-analysis bug where we lose track of alias information for arrays of indeterminate length (declared as extern int a[]) when we unroll loops, leading to possible incorrect dead-store removal. 

Angular 2 is written in and all the samples and documentation are written in TypeScript.  Thus, TypeScript is my next language of choice.  This should be pretty straight forward, as the hard part is OOP, which we C# programmers are already comfortable with. 

C# 7.1 is a small release with just a few (but well-chosen) new language features; useful we think, but definitely in the minor range. It’s supported by Visual Studio 2017, starting with Update 15.3.
