This post explains some of our plans for evolving our architecture and design tools in Visual Studio, including new capabilities and changes to existing capabilities that we will be delivering in the next major release and subsequent updates

OWASP’s Top 10 Risk List is an important tool for security engineers and compliance analysts. It describes the 10 worst security problems that are found in web and mobile applications today. But, on its own, it’s not much help to developers, so OWASP has come up with a list of 10 things that you can do as a developer to make sure that your code is safe and secure. 

The preview release of PowerShell 7.1 includes .NET 5 preview 1. Starting with PowerShell 7.0, devs have shifted to align with .NET’s release and support life-cycle more closely. PowerShell 7.1 is expected to become available within a week or two of .NET 5’s release date of winter 2020 and align with their annual release cadence going forward. 

.NET Core 3.1 is a long-term supported (LTS) release (supported for at least 3 years). We recommend that you move any .NET Core 3.0 applications and environments to .NET Core 3.1 now. It’ll be an easy upgrade in most cases. 

The long road to C# 9 has already begun and this is the first article in the world about the C# 9 Candidate features. Once you have completed reading this article, you will hopefully be better prepared for the new C# challenges you will meet in the future. 

VSCode for the C# Developer - Tim Corey - NDC London 2023

VSCode is a nimble editor that can do just about anything. In this session, we will set up and configure VSCode for use in C# development. Then we will use it to build, debug, and deploy a small .NET Core web application to Azure.
Along the way, we will go over a list of the top C#-focused plugins for VSCode. Whether you are just getting started with VSCode or you are used to VSCode but want to start building C# projects, this session will get you up to speed fast. 

We’re excited to announce the release of .NET Core 2.1. It includes improvements to performance, to the runtime and tools. It also includes a new way to deploy tools as NuGet packages.  

the main goal of this release is to facilitate migrating existing applications that use EF 6 to .NET Core 3.0 

Today we are pleased to announce the availability of .NET Multi-platform App UI (.NET MAUI) Preview 4. Each preview introduces more controls and features to this multi-platform toolkit on our way to general availability this November at .NET Conf. .NET MAUI now has enough building blocks to build functional applications for all supported platforms, new capabilities to support running Blazor on the desktop, and exciting progress in Visual Studio to support .NET MAUI.
