Top Issues Fixed in Visual Studio 2019 RC.1

• Visual Studio 2019 Preview 4 crash if closing undocked Window.
• Intellisense error: C++11 static constexpr member initialization causes "member may not be initialized".
• Start Page "Remove From List" stops working.
• $(VCIDEInstallDir) is an invalid path. Missing backslash in Microsoft.Cpp.Common.props.
• Visual Studio 2019 Preview 2.0+ crashes when opening soultion filter.
• Manage Extensions toolbar throws exception.
• Fixed rendering of the Import and Export Settings Wizard when running per-monitor aware

Microsoft formally released fixes for 112 newly discovered security vulnerabilities as part of its November 2020 Patch Tuesday, including an actively exploited zero-day flaw disclosed by Google's security team last week. 

EF Core 5.0 is currently in development. This page will contain an overview of interesting changes introduced in each preview. The first preview of EF Core 5.0 is tentatively expected in in the first quarter of 2020. 

The popular JavaScript transpiler now supports ECMAScript 2020 features by default with no plugins needed for nullish coalescing (??), optional chaining (?.) and dynamic import(). Work is also underway on Babel 8 with two upcoming issues outlined in this post too. 

At Build 2019, Microsoft announced the release date for .NET Core 3.0 to be this coming September. This release includes the highly touted support for desktop platforms like WinForms and WPF. Today, there’s still a large developer base that’s building desktop applications using these .NET Windows desktop frameworks and by using .NET Core 3.0, you can now build desktop applications on the .NET Core platform.

.NET 6 has been tested with Visual Studio 16.9 Preview 4 and Visual Studio for Mac 8.9. We recommend you use those builds if you want to try .NET 6. 

Although most of the attention is on .NET Core, development continues on the original .NET Framework. Microsoft has recently released a preview of .NET Framework 4.7.2 with updates to ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WCF, WPF, and even Windows Forms. You can see the complete release notes on GitHub.
