Today, we’re excited to introduce GitHub Package Registry, a package management service that makes it easy to publish public or private packages next to your source code.

GitHub Package Registry is fully integrated with GitHub, so you can use the same search, browsing, and management tools to find and publish packages as you do for your repositories. You can also use the same user and team permissions to manage code and packages together. GitHub Package Registry provides fast, reliable downloads backed by GitHub’s global CDN. And it supports familiar package management tools: JavaScript (npm), Java (Maven), Ruby (RubyGems), .NET (NuGet), and Docker images, with more to come.

Our beginner's guide to building Web APIs with ASP.NET Core is designed to provide you with the foundation you need to start building Web APIs with .NET in a collection of short, pragmatic collection of videos. Web APIs have become a critical component in almost every type of software we use today. In this introductory video series, we will walk you through the fundamental concepts you need to know to get started with building Web APIs using ASP.NET Core. We will cover topics such as routing, validation, working with data, and much more.  

The Query Store feature helps you to track query plans, runtime statistics and queries/plans history. It also helps you find regressing queries. You can quickly find new queries with multiple plans, identify un-efficient plans and force a better plan.

This is a tiny utility which stores multiple network and proxy configuration as profiles. You can apply a profile to set specific network setting and proxy from simple shortcuts.  

To summarize, we have built an in-house proxy that is faster, more efficient and versatile as the platform for our current and future products. 

With .NET Standard 2.0, we’re focusing on compatibility. In order to support .NET Standard 2.0 in .NET Core and UWP, we’ll be extending these platforms to include many more of the existing APIs. This also includes a compatibility shim that allows referencing binaries that were compiled against the .NET Framework.

.NET Smart Components

.NET Smart Components shows you how to add genuinely useful AI-powered features to your .NET apps quickly, easily, and without risking wasted effort.

.NET Core, the reinvention of the Microsoft .NET Framework as an open source, cross-platform development choice, is a key focus of the upcoming features planned for the Visual Studio IDE.

In conjunction with .NET Standard -- a spec detailing what .NET APIs should be available on all .NET implementations -- .NET Core retains compatibility with .NET Framework, Xamarin and Mono while letting developers use Windows, macOS or Linux machines to code for mobile, cloud and embedded/IoT projects.

While still primarily driven by Microsoft dev teams, .NET Core is hosted on a GitHub repository and is supported by the .NET Foundation, an independent organization created by Microsoft three years ago to improve its open source development and collaboration.

Peeking at the Visual Studio Roadmap (updated last week) reveals .NET Core figures prominently in upcoming functionality for the IDE, both in the near-term and long:
