A fantastic writeup (from a TC39 member, no less) of how Bloomberg (the financial media company) adopted TypeScript and now has 2,000 full-time JavaScript engineers. Curiously we also learn that Bloomberg also have their own JavaScript runtime built around the V8 engine.
In this post we are going to talk about two CSS properties that not a lot of web developers know about. They are called object-fit and object-position and both have to do with styling images and video.
With .NET Standard 2.0, we’re focusing on compatibility. In order to support .NET Standard 2.0 in .NET Core and UWP, we’ll be extending these platforms to include many more of the existing APIs. This also includes a compatibility shim that allows referencing binaries that were compiled against the .NET Framework.
Angular 2 is getting a lot of hype and attention, but the reality is that it is still in alpha and changes quite rapidly. It is not intended at all to be used in production yet. So, really, you can’t and shouldn’t start your company’s next big project using it.
This issue represents the list of major investments our team will focus on during the .NET 7 timeframe. It does not include all the features and bugfixes we will be tackling during this time.
