Multi-Targeting and Porting a .NET Library to .NET Core 2.0 

SQL Server 2014 DML Triggers are often a point of contention between Developers and DBAs, between those who customize a database application and those who provides it. They seem easy to write, but writing efficient Trigger, though complex have a very important characteristic: they allow solving problems that cannot be managed in any other application layer. In my earlier post Getting Started: Xamarin Forms with .NET Standard I covered how to create a new Xamarin Forms project which uses a .NET Standard 1.4 library to share the views between iOS, Android and UWP. 

The fourth preview of .NET 7 includes enhancements to observability in the .NET implementation of OpenTelemetry, the addition of properties to track microseconds and nanoseconds in date and time structures, new metrics for caching extensions, performance-boosting “on stack replacement,” APIs to work with .tar archives, and additional features as part of an ongoing effort to improve the performance of and add features to regular expressions in .NET 7.  

We are excited to release .NET 6 Release Candidate 2. It is the second of two “go live” release candidate releases that are supported in production. For the last couple months, the team has been focused exclusively on quality improvements. There are a lot of new features in the release, which only fully come together near the end. The team is currently validating end-to-end workflows to find the places where design intentions and technical reality don’t yet fully match. That’s led to teams tightening leaky pipes and paving paths all the way to their destination.
