Windows 11 marks a visual evolution of the operating system. We have evolved our design language alongside with Fluent to create a design which is human, universal and truly feels like Windows. 

In this tutorial we will create a WebAPI application with the full version of ASP.NET. We will then host it with IIS in a Windows Server Core instance using Windows Containers and Docker. 

At Build 2019, Microsoft announced the release date for .NET Core 3.0 to be this coming September. This release includes the highly touted support for desktop platforms like WinForms and WPF. Today, there’s still a large developer base that’s building desktop applications using these .NET Windows desktop frameworks and by using .NET Core 3.0, you can now build desktop applications on the .NET Core platform.

• Fixed known issue: Xamarin problem following update to VS2019 16.1.

• Improved the reliability of Visual Studio by fixing an intermittent issue that happens when opening solutions.
• Fixed a crash with the search functionality in locals / autos / watch windows when the IDE is not in break mode. 

Microsoft is working on integrating Rust, a programming language that emphasizes performance, type safety, and concurrency, into the Windows 11 kernel. According to David Weston, Vice President, Enterprise and OS Security at Microsoft, the company plans to boot Windows 11 with Rust code inside in the near future. 

A few of the customer-requested updates in Microsoft SQL Server 2014 SP1 are:

• Column store performance is improved when batch mode operators spill over to disk. A new XEvent provides insights into column store inserts.
• Several issues in buffer pool extension SSD configuration are addressed, including the ability to do instant initialization of the buffer pool extension file.
• Certain queries compile faster when using new cardinality estimator, and other cardinality estimation query plans are more efficient when using TF-4199. 
• The scalability benefits of two trace flags (TF-1236, TF-9024) are applied automatically.
• Backup header information retrieval works better with encrypted backups.
