Version 10.0.0 is here! This is a major release that spans the entire platform, including the framework, Angular Material, and the CLI. This release is smaller than typical; it has only been 4 months since we released version 9.0 of Angular.
.NET 8 RC1 is now available. This is our first of two release candidates. This release includes a new AOT mode for both Android and WASM, System.Text.Json improvements, and Azure Managed Identity support for containers. Now is great time to pick up and test .NET 8 if you haven’t yet.

- Svelte took the top frontend framework crown from React for developer satisfaction.
- Testing Library jumped straight to #1 for testing libraries.
- More developers than ever are producing PWAs or using WebAssembly.
- 86% of respondents are using VS Code to work on their code.
The configuration system in ASP.NET 5 has been completely overhauled and entire web.config/app.config mechanism has been thrown out in favor of a new pluggable system. The default configuration implementation uses a config.json file as storage, but the system is pluggable so other providers can be used instead as well as at the same time. For example, the default project template uses both config.json and environment variables, the latter of which override values in the .json file.
This post provides a simple IValueConverter implementation that makes use of the framework type converters in order to convert between a large range of source / target types. This converter can be used both within bindings and in code-behind to give more concise property setters.
