Burke learns Blazor by porting a Vue.js app to Blazor
This summer, Burke and Jon are porting theurlist.com to Blazor - a real world JavaScript application written in Vue.js. Join them each week as they use Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and GitHub Copilot to rebuild this app and try to tackle every frontend issue you might encounter along the way.
gRPC Service with .NET 7
In this video we build a gRPC service with 5 methods: Create, Read (single), List (multiple), Update and Delete. We then employ JSON transcoding (a new feature added in .NET 7) to allow our gRPC service to act as a REST based API. This allows web-based endpoints to consume our service, while at the same time continuing to allow native gRPC clients to consume as well.

ASP.NET Core 1.0 is the ground-up rewrite of ASP.NET, MVC and Web API, bringing a new paradigm in building web applications and APIs in .NET. With this rewrite brought new techniques in building SOLID applications, and updated some existing patterns and tools.
In this session, we'll take a lap around some of the major extension points of ASP.NET Core 1.0, walking through how these features can help us build cleaner, more maintainable systems. We'll cover web APIs, traditional MVC applications, controllers, views, filters, dependency injection, tag helpers and more. With a SOLID foundation, our ASP.NET Core applications will be dead simple to build and maintain.
As software creation processes continue to become more complicated, development teams are taking a more all-encompassing approach that involves agile testing methodologies. Like agile software development, agile testing involves running test cases that assess the overall integrity of a solution, rather than simply ensuring that each part and piece are technically sound. Viewed as an analogy, agile testing methodologies ensure that software is a well-oiled machine, whereas a linear approach to testing just ensures that each of the gears is in good order. Herein lies the difference between unit tests and test automation.
