Bootstrap v4.3 has landed with over 120 combined closed issues and merged pull requests. This release brings improvements to our utilities, some prep work for moving on to v5’s development, and the standard bug fixes and documentation updates. 

We’re excited to announce the release of .NET Core 3.0. It includes many improvements, including adding Windows Forms and WPF, adding new JSON APIs, support for ARM64 and improving performance across the board. C# 8 is also part of this release, which includes nullable, async streams, and more patterns. F# 4.7 is included, and focused on relaxing syntax and targeting .NET Standard 2.0. You can start updating existing projects to target .NET Core 3.0 today. The release is compatible with previous versions, making updating easy. 

In the .NET framework 4+, there is enhanced support for parallel programming, including new class library types, Tasks, Parallel For, Parallel Linq, and concurrent collections. Check out some of these features here. 

Today at .NET Conf 2019, we shared some exciting announcements for Xamarin and Visual Studio developers, including:

• XAML Hot Reload for Xamarin.Forms: Make changes to your XAML UI. See them reflected live on your emulator, simulator, or physical device.
• Xamarin Hot Restart: Test changes made to your app, including multi-file code edits, resources, and references, while using a much faster build and deploy cycle.
• iOS 13 and Android 10: Take advantage of the full power and performance of native platforms and APIs. Including iPadOS, dark mode, and foldable support. 

What’s new for performance in .NET Core and ASP.NET Core 3.0 – Ben Adams
One of the biggest advantages of using .NET Core (besides cross-platform support) is the drastic improvements in performance. Because the .NET Core team was able to make minor breaking changes in the runtime and Base Class Library (BCL), lots of stuff was implemented much more efficiently. In this session Ben will dive into the performance improvements in .NET Core in the 3.0 release: runtime changes, JIT changes, intrinsics and a deep dive into some of the improvements making it the best release yet!

One thing I wish I had understood better earlier on in my experience with PostgreSQL is how transactions and locks can be used together to provide serializable logic.
