AutoMapper has been a popular library in the .NET open source community for a long time. As their site says:

AutoMapper is a simple little library built to solve a deceptively complex problem - getting rid of code that mapped one object to another. This type of code is rather dreary and boring to write, so why not invent a tool to do it for us?

Microsoft Security Advisory for .NET Core Denial Of Service Vulnerability

CVE-2018-0765

Microsoft is releasing this security advisory to provide information about a vulnerability in .NET Core and .NET native version 2.0. This advisory also provides guidance on what developers can do to update their applications to remove this vulnerability.

Microsoft is aware of a denial of service vulnerability that exists when .NET Framework and .NET Core improperly process XML documents. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could cause a denial of service against a .NET Framework, .NET Core, or .NET native application.

The update addresses the vulnerability by correcting how .NET Framework, .NET Core, and .NET native applications handle XML document processing.

If your application is an ASP.NET Core application, developers are also advised to update to ASP.NET Core 2.0.8.

Not many are familiar with this awesome feature of dotnet core. Aspnet team is actively maintaining a project named  JavascriptServices ; Along with other packages, it includes the NodeServices package. Using this package, one can easily create an instance of node and execute JavaScript code (function) in the backend. If you think of it right now, you can see that it actually opens up a wide variety of development opportunities. By opportunities, I mean; the ASP.NET core project is trying hard to make its package eco-system (NuGet) rich but while doing it, why not get advantages of other package eco-system as well, right? When I talk about other than nuget package manager, the first name that comes to my mind is Npm (node package manager). Npm is the largest package manager out there on this very day and its growing rapidly. By using NodeServices package, we can now use (not all of the npm packages but) most of the npm packages in our backend development. So, let me show you how to configure NodeServices in your aspnet core project and use it to execute JavaScript code on the backend.

Bridge Network Driver

The bridge networking driver is the first driver on our list. It’s simple to understand, simple to use, and simple to troubleshoot, which makes it a good networking choice for developers and those new to Docker. The bridge driver creates a private network internal to the host so containers on this network can communicate. External access is granted by exposing ports to containers. Docker secures the network by managing rules that block connectivity between different Docker networks. 


Overlay Network Driver

The built-in Docker overlay network driver radically simplifies many of the complexities in multi-host networking. It is a swarm scope driver, which means that it operates across an entire Swarm or UCP cluster rather than individual hosts. With the overlay driver, multi-host networks are first-class citizens inside Docker without external provisioning or components. IPAM, service discovery, multi-host connectivity, encryption, and load balancing are built right in. For control, the overlay driver uses the encrypted Swarm control plane to manage large scale clusters at low convergence times. 


MACVLAN Driver

The macvlan driver is the newest built-in network driver and offers several unique characteristics. It’s a very lightweight driver, because rather than using any Linux bridging or port mapping, it connects container interfaces directly to host interfaces. Containers are addressed with routable IP addresses that are on the subnet of the external network.

As a result of routable IP addresses, containers communicate directly with resources that exist outside a Swarm cluster without the use of NAT and port mapping. This can aid in network visibility and troubleshooting. Additionally, the direct traffic path between containers and the host interface helps reduce latency. macvlan is a local scope network driver which is configured per-host. As a result, there are stricter dependencies between MACVLAN and external networks, which is both a constraint and an advantage that is different from overlay or bridge.

In the eighteen years that I’ve been doing Web development, a lot has changed. We started out creating HTML pages to present static information to our users. We then used classic ASP to get database data and incorporate that into our pages. To use both of these technologies, we had to know a lot about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Along came .NET and we started rendering everything on the server-side. We forgot a lot about HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as Web Forms wrapped up a lot of that for us. Web Forms’ architecture closely mimicked the way developers created desktop applications. This was great for helping developers move to the Web, but unfortunately hid a lot of the power of the Web, and also tended to be a little slow.

کلیات مطلب عنوان شده‌ی در اینجا در ASP.NET Core Identity هم صادق است؛ اما به همراه امکانات تنظیمی بیشتر، مانند امکان تنظیم تعداد بار تکرار الگوریتم هش کردن کلمات عبور:

که البته مقدار پیش‌فرض آن همان 100 هزار بار است که هرچقدر مقدار آن بیشتر باشد، کار brute force آن مشکل‌تر می‌شود.

نکته 1: تغییر این مقدار، مشکلی را برای کاربران فعلی ایجاد نمی‌کند؛ از این جهت که این تعداد بار نیز جزو اطلاعاتی است که به همراه هش نهایی در بانک اطلاعاتی ذخیره می‌شود و اگر مقدار آن‌را تغییر دادید، صرفا به کاربران جدید و یا کاربرانی که کلمه‌ی عبور خود را تغییر می‌دهند، اعمال خواهد شد.
نکته 2: این تغییر، زمانی مؤثر واقع خواهد شد که مقدار تعداد تکرار جدید، بیشتر از مقدار قبلی باشد. یعنی اگر مقدار جدیدی را مساوی 200 هزار اعمال کردید و بر اساس آن هش کلمات عبور تغییر یافت و سپس این مقدار را به 100 هزار تغییر دادید، چون عدد جدید کمتر است از عدد قبلی، ندید گرفته می‌شود.
نکته 3: بهتر است این عدد را بیش از اندازه بزرگ انتخاب نکنید؛ چون کار سرور را بیشتر کرده و همچنین پروسه‌ی لاگین را کند می‌کنید. زمان پیشنهادی برای اینکار، 1 ثانیه به ازای هر کلمه‌ی عبور است. یعنی عددی را انتخاب کنید که پس از انجام تمام تکرارها برای محاسبه‌ی هش، بیش از 1 ثانیه طول نکشد و بر این اساس، عدد 500 هزار تکرار، شاید انتخاب بهتری باشد.

Because these bindings are projections of the SDKs shipped from Apple and Google, nothing changes there, however build tooling, target framework monikers, and runtime framework monikers will be updated to match all other .NET 6 workloads. Our commitment to keeping .NET developers up-to-date with the latest mobile SDKs is foundational to .NET MAUI and remains firm. When .NET 6 ships, we expect to ship a final release of Xamarin SDKs in their current form that will be serviced for a year. All modern work will at that time shift to .NET 6.
