There are two MySQL providers for Entity Framework Core:
- The official one from MySQL: MySql.Data.EntityFrameworkCore. As of now, the latest version is 8.0.19, and works with Entity Framework Core 2.1 (and probably also 2.2). Since EF Core 3.0 is a major version with breaking changes, you cannot use it with this provider.
- The Pomelo provider: Pomelo.EntityFrameworkCore.MySql. There is a 3.1 version of this provider.
In other words, if you want to use EF Core 3.0/3.1 with MySQL, at this point you need to use the Pomelo provider (or wait for the official MySQL one to get released).

In the past we've thought about records as a feature to enable working with data. "Working with data" is a big group with a number of facets, so it may be interesting to look at each in isolation. Let's start by looking at an example of records today and some of its drawbacks.

When we started the Google Code project hosting service in 2006, the world of project hosting was limited. We were worried about reliability and stagnation, so we took action by giving the open source community another option to choose from. Since then, we’ve seen a wide variety of better project hosting services such as GitHub and Bitbucket bloom. Many projects moved away from Google Code to those other systems. To meet developers where they are, we ourselves migrated nearly a thousand of our own open source projects from Google Code to GitHub.

Angular 15 Tutorials for beginners 

After the releasing Angular 14 this year, now Angular 15 is released this month (November 2022) with a couple of features including performance improvement. Previously we saw a new feature added to Angular 14. The released Angular 15 version is a stable version.

 

For many years now I’ve advocated not using the repository pattern on top of an ORM such as Entity Framework. There are many reasons why that I’ll try and cover throughout this post based on ways that I’ve seen it implemented. Meaning, this post is talking about poorly implemented approaches or pitfalls that I’ve seen. 

We’re introducing a new singleton service that will support generating a URL. This new service can be used from middleware, and does not require an HttpContext. For right now the set of things you can link to is limited to MVC actions, but this will expand in 3.0.
