Rider EAP 20 fixes a number of bugs, improves .NET Core support, has better NuGet performance, supports Xamarin Android applications, comes with Node.js tooling from WebStorm (including SpyJS), can generate ResX files, executes T4 templates (needs Windows and Visual Studio SDK), adds support for scratch files, … Too much for one sentence, as you can see from the full list of fixes. Partial Views and Child Actions are one the most used features of ASP.NET MVC. Partial Views provides us a way to create a reusable component that can be used in multiple Views. There are Actions which can be marked as Child Actions and these cannot be invoked via URL but inside views or partial views. Child Actions are no more available with ASP.NET Core. View Components are new way to implement this feature in ASP.NET Core.

What’s in this build? Significant performance improvements were made, shared projects are now supported, code inspection severity can be configured, settings for our unit test runner can be edited, various updates to the NuGet tool window UI, and more. It has only been about a year since .NET Core 1.0 RC came out. We are now getting close to .NET Core 2.0. We have been playing with .NET Core since the betas and feel like the quality of the 1.0 runtime was very good. Our only complaint has really been odd Visual Studio behavior. We would expect that with 2.0, the adoption of .NET Core is likely to skyrocket.
With the ASP.NET Core 1.1 release, many new features were introduced. One of them was enabling gZip compression and today we will take a look at another new feature which is Response Caching Middleware.
