Today, we are releasing updates to the .NET Core SDK, included in Visual Studio 2017 RC. You can also install the .NET Core SDK for use with Visual Studio Code or at the command line, on Windows, Mac and Linux. Check out the Visual Studio blog to learn more about this Visual Studio 2017 update. 

net5.0. This is for code that runs everywhere. It combines and replaces the netcoreapp and netstandard names. This TFM will generally only include technologies that work cross-platform (except for pragmatic concessions, like we already did in .NET Standard). 

Moments ago we published a new bugfix – please welcome ReSharper Ultimate 2019.2.3 . It delivers highly requested support for the .NET Core 3.0 release build, which was released earlier, for all the tools in the ReSharper Ultimate family! 

It includes a chart control for Windows Forms, HTTP/2 support, GC updates to use less memory, support for CPU limits with Docker, the addition of PowerShell in .NET Core SDK Docker container images, and other improvements.  

The .NET Framework 4.7 includes improvements in several areas:

1. High DPI support for Windows Forms applications on Windows 10
   
2. Touch support for WPF applications on Windows 10
   
3. Enhanced cryptography support
   
4. Performance and reliability improvements 
   

We are actively monitoring the 1.0 release for issues to include in a first patch (1.0.1) release of the .NET Core SDK. There is no scheduled date for this patch update but early August is likely.  

In the .NET framework 4+, there is enhanced support for parallel programming, including new class library types, Tasks, Parallel For, Parallel Linq, and concurrent collections. Check out some of these features here.
