EF Core 7 is the successor to EF Core 6, and can be referred to as EF7 for brevity. EF Core 7 contains many features that help in porting “classic” EF6 applications to use EF7. Previous versions of ASP.NET included the Web API framework for creating web APIs. In ASP.NET 5, this functionality has been merged into the MVC 6 framework. Many applications have a need to keep audit information on changes made to objects in the database.
