WebAssembly is moving beyond the browser and is pitched to become a foundational element of modern cloud-native architecture. It lets any language compile to universal binaries that run on any OS or processor, robustly sandboxed and with great performance. This session covers a new approach to running .NET in WASI environments. You’ll see how your existing .NET code could be built into WASI-compliant modules, plus the opportunities this opens. This is experimental, not yet a committed product.

Over the last month, we released Node.js Tools 1.0 for Visual Studio, joined the vibrant open source community on GitHub , and created VM images so anyone can quickly get started with NTVS.

This week during Build 2021, Microsoft issued .NET 6 Preview 4 and revealed that the final .NET 6 version will ship on November 9.

thanks to a new feature added in Visual Studio 2019 16.1, we can combine the best of both worlds when it comes to support the App Installer technology: the easiness of automatically generating an .appinstaller file as part of the package creation process and the flexibility of the new update features added in Windows 10 1903. 

Immutability comes with a lot of benefits, but sometimes it can be a bit cumbersome to deal with when you only want to update some properties. Since the object is immutable, you need to create a copy with all the existing values and the new updated one.

Today we announced the general availability of SQL Server 2016, the world’s fastest and most price-performant database for HTAP (Hybrid Transactional and Analytical Processing) with updateable, in-memory columnstores and advanced analytics through deep integration with R Services. Software applications can now deploy sophisticated analytics and machine learning models in the database resulting in 100x or more speedup in time to insight, compared to deployments of such models outside of the database. 

So yes, Web API will return dynamic types. This isn't a surprise given that it needs to support any model type that we would normally throw at it. 

Using Node.js, we can create web applications easily. Now, thanks to the node-webkit we can also create desktop apps with it, using a unique combination of HTML5 and Node.
