One thing I wish I had understood better earlier on in my experience with PostgreSQL is how transactions and locks can be used together to provide serializable logic.
C# 9.0 is taking shape, and I’d like to share our thinking on some of the major features we’re adding to this next version of the language.
Earlier today we finalized and published the next major release of Humanizer. This version includes many fixes and new features, many of them coming directly from the community.

What a great title. "URLs are UI." Pithy, clear, crisp. Very true. I've been saying it for years. Someone on Twitter said "this is the professional quote of 2017" because they agreed with it
.NET 6 will reach end of support on Nov 12, 2024. After that, Microsoft will no longer provide updates for .NET 6. Security fixes and technical support will no longer be available for .NET 6. You’ll need to update to .NET 8 before this date to stay supported.
In .NET 5, there are only two equivalent foreach
loops happening behind the scenes. However in .NET Framework, there’s
an extra one happening, which means nine iterations happen, instead of
six.
These are the customer-reported issues addressed in this release:
- "Specified argument out of the range of valid values, parameter name: count"

- VS2017 Installer crashes on Modify when SyncFusion WPF Templates are installed.
- Test Explorer loses position when tests are run.

- 15.6 preview 6 discovers test adapter, but fails to run tests.

CVE-2018-0875: Microsoft is aware of a security vulnerability in the public versions of .NET Core where a malicious file or web request could cause a denial of service (DoS) attack.
- System administrators are advised to update their .NET Core runtimes to versions 1.0.10, 1.1.7 or 2.0.6. Developers are advised to update their .NET Core SDK to versions 1.1.8 or 2.1.101.

My last post investigated ways to build a .NET Core desktop/console app with a web-rendered UI without bringing in the full weight of Electron. This seems to have interested a lot of people, so I decided to upgrade it to newer technologies and add cross-platform support.
The result is a little NuGet package called WebWindow that you can add to any .NET Core console app. It can open a native OS window (Windows/Mac/Linux) containing web-based UI, without your app having to bundle either Node or Chromium.
