After several years of development, MBrace 1.0 was released last week. MBrace is a programming model for scalable cloud data scripting and programming with F# and C#. The project consists mainly of code libraries and cloud providers runtime. 

New JSON Serialization
In 3.0-preview5, ASP.NET Core MVC adds supports for reading and writing JSON using System.Text.Json. The System.Text.Json serializer can read and write JSON asynchronously, and is optimized for UTF-8 text making it ideal for REST APIs and backend applications. 

For Linux users, Microsoft offers a new Skype app, which is a web app bundled with its own Electron engine. For those of you not familiar with Electron, it is a framework for creating GUI apps which uses Node.js on the backend and Chromium as the frontend. 

.NET 8 Release Candidate 2 (RC2) is now available and includes many great new improvements to ASP.NET Core!

This is the last release candidate that we plan to share before the final .NET 8 release later this year. Most of the planned features and changes for .NET 8 are part of this release candidate and are ready for you to try out. meSing.js is a JavaScript singing synthesis library that uses the Web Audio API's DSP capabilities in conjunction with the meSpeak.js speech synthesis library to provide a vocal synthesizer for the web. First, the lyrics with corresponding MIDI notes are parsed and fed to meSpeak.js; the resulting text-to-speech output is then converted into a series of AudioBufferSourceNodes, which are subsequently processed and adjusted for pitch, rhythm, and expression.  Demo
