This blog post covers the major themes and goals that drive the prioritization and selection of enhancements to develop. .NET 8 preview and release candidate builds will be delivered monthly. As usual, the final release will be delivered sometime in November at .NET Conf. 

There’s a ton of small bug fixes in this release, quite a few enhancements and a few larger new features. Configuration performance went up quite a bit, and I’ve laid the groundwork to make in-memory mapping a lot faster in the future. LINQ projection has gotten to the point where you can do anything that the major query providers support.

Scratch.js is a standalone library with no external dependencies which brings interactivity to your website by allowing you to generate scratch cards for your visitors.
Based on HTML5, scratch.js generate canvas on the fly and is optimized for all modern browsers and has touch support for mobile devices. You can use it to make scratch cards, coupons, promotionnal game and even advertisement.

The following list defines breaking changes that are proposed for .NET 7. Ideally, these are implemented no later than Preview 3. 

.NET 5 Preview 6 is now available and is ready for evaluation. Here’s what’s new in this release:

• JSON extension methods for HttpRequest and HttpResponse
• Extension method to allow anonymous access to an endpoint
• Custom handling of authorization failures
• SignalR Hub filters
