The next major release of the popular data structure server is here. Redis is at the heart of so many data systems nowadays that any major release is big news but 6.0 packs in a lot of new bits and pieces that make it more robust and capable of modern workloads, including:
- Access Control Lists (ACL) for limiting what certain clients can do.
- Diskless replication on replicas.
- Threaded I/O (but Redis itself remains primarily single threaded).
- SSL/TLS support.
- A new client-server protocol, RESP3.
 

TypeScript has some "interesting" limitations when it comes to overloading functions. But it also offers you some options when you need more flexibility in declaring functions, including both optional parameters and infinite parameter lists.

jQuery has a new release! It’s been a while since our last release, but we expect this to be the last minor release in the 3.x branch, and then we will move on to the overhaul that will be jQuery 4.0. But before we get to 4.0, we’re excited to share the bug fixes and improvements included in jQuery 3.4.0 

Today, we’re releasing .NET 5.0 Preview 6. It contains a small set of new features and performance improvements. The .NET 5.0 Preview 4 post covers what we are planning to deliver with .NET 5.0. Most of the features are now in the product, but some are not yet in their final state. We expect that the release will be feature-complete with Preview 8.

.NET 7 provides improved support for running .NET on WebAssembly in JavaScript-based apps, including a rich JavaScript interop mechanism.  

The .NET 7 release marks an exciting milestone in many ways, but one in particular that’s exciting for ASP.NET developers building distributed apps or apps designed to be cloud native and ready for dynamic horizontal scale out is the addition of the Orleans team to the broader .NET team. Bringing Orleans and ASP.NET Core closer together has led to some exciting ideas for the future of how we blend Orleans into the ASP.NET toolchain, and coupled with the huge advances in performance throughout .NET 7 are improvements to Orleans 7 that bring over 150% improvements to some areas of the Orleans toolchain.
