SharpLab is a .NET code playground that shows intermediate steps and results of code compilation

Languages

SharpLab supports three source languages:

1. C#
2. Visual Basic
3. F# 

Just-in-time (JIT in PostgreSQL) compilation of SQL statements is one of the highlighted features in PostgreSQL 11. There is great excitement in the community because of the many claims of up to a 30% jump in performance.  

We strongly believe in a long-term value of this project. A code base in managed code is more approachable for developers and thus easier to extend and maintain. 

Overall, our RyuJIT investments have been focused on evolving the code base towards enabling better support for:

• Multiple code generation targets (instruction sets and operating systems),
• Improved optimizations,
• Better and more flexible code generation, and
• Open, flexible, and robust design and implementation. 

RyuJIT Just-in-Time Compiler Optimization Enhancements 

RyuJIT is the “next generation” just in time compiler for .NET 

looking at the Midori language, this time discussing how the compiler obtained native like performance with managed like code.
