The State of Developer Ecosystem 2019
In the beginning of 2019, we polled almost 7,000 developers to identify the State of Developer Ecosystem.
Here's what we learned.

If the Five Eyes agencies want us to move to something they call "secure"., that just guarantees they are not, in fact, secure. or likely their new tools dont work on C++ and thus they want us all to move to something newer. 

C# 7.1 is a small release with just a few (but well-chosen) new language features; useful we think, but definitely in the minor range. It’s supported by Visual Studio 2017, starting with Update 15.3. 

Some of it, though, has to be attributed to the fact that Microsoft isn't a big company... it's a dozen big companies. And it's not a dozen big companies, but thousands of small companies. As an individual contributor in particular it's easy to pretend that the company is your project, or your group, and ignore the other 90 thousand people.
