Adaptation of Design Patterns for Humans to C#  

Creator of Python, Guido van Rossum, has joined Microsoft as a Distinguished Engineer in the Developer Division. His stated aim is to make Python better. We can't wait to find out what that results in.  

My guess is that this could be part of a long-term strategy to retire the full .NET Framework , rather than bringing any real value to .NET Core or desktop applications. 

In Entity Framework 4.1+ we would validate entities before sending them to the database. We don’t perform validation in EF Core, but there is a quick way to add at least some of it back. 

At work, we are planning to migrate our WPF application from .NET Framework 4.7 to .NET Core 3.0. The main reason for doing so is that it was always a big pain to organize the updates of the .NET Framework on our customer machines. So being able to bundle .NET Core with our application is a big plus for us. Then, for sure, we are looking for the performance improvements brought by .NET Core and finally the new capabilities brought by the fast pace of innovation of .NET Core. 

The key point is that even if you have a monster development machine with 128 processors, SSD drives and 1TB of memory, Visual Studio will only ever use 2 to 2.5GB of memory.  

.NET Framework is the implementation of .NET that’s installed on over one billion machines and thus needs to remain as compatible as possible. Because of this, it moves at a slower pace than .NET Core.
