In the .NET community standup YouTube stream it was just confirmed that WPF maintenance has been outsourced to IDC [Microsoft India Development Center] where projects historically has gone to die. So no one left in Redmond really working on it. 

Point to note that, Visual Studio 2017 version 15.9 would be the last/final release of Visual Studio 2017, as it has been designated as "Service Pack". Microsoft won't be releasing any further updates to it. 

Overall I was very very happy with LiteDB and I particularly like the fact that is was free, and it did pretty much exactly the same as RavenDB Emebedded (sometimes it was easier to do as well). 

This idea doesn’t mean that it’s ok to have massive functions that have no functional cohesion but instead in some circumstances it may improve readability.

Here are a couple of the most relevant improvements you may want to verify:

• Work on the EF Core in-memory provider was finished and most query features should now be working (the majority of it went into RC1)
• EF Core’s compilation performance was improved significantly for complex queries

Always Encrypted is a new feature in SQL Server 2016, which encrypts the data both at rest *and* in motion (and keeps it encrypted in memory). So this protects the data from rogue administrators, backup thieves, and man-in-the-middle attacks. Unlike TDE, as well, Always Encrypted allows you to encrypt only certain columns, rather than the entire database.
