Angular
1.3 might be the best Angular yet, but there's still lots of high impact work
to be done on the 1.x branch. We still have Material Design, our new router,
and improved internationalization of Angular apps still to come ...
The Angular 1.x project needs someone to be fully committed to keeping v1 moving forward, and supporting the Angular ecosystem that has grown around it.
That's why I'm delighted that Pete Bacon Darwin has agreed to take over the leadership role for Angular v1.
But Pete can't do this
alone. He needs Brian, Caitlin, and Chirayu to help make v1 even more awesome.
Jeff will help out with google3 sync and releases, and familiar faces like
Matias Niemela and Pawel Kozlowski (who co-wrote one of the first books on Angular with
Pete) will be ongoing contributors. We're also looking forward to meeting new
faces. Over time, some of these folks will shift their focus towards Angular 2,
but for the immediate future, what's most important is that Angular 1.x is and
continues to be well taken care of.

This topic provides information about the way in which LINQ queries are composed and executed when you are using the WCF Data Services client and limitations of using LINQ to query a data service that implements the Open Data Protocol (OData). For more information about composing and executing queries against an OData-based data service, see Querying the Data Service (WCF Data Services). Composing LINQ Queries LINQ enables you to compose queries against a collection of objects that implements IEnumerable. Both the Add Service Reference dialog box in Visual Studio and the DataSvcUtil.exe tool are used to generate a representation of an OData service as an entity container class that inherits from DataServiceContext, as well as objects that represent the entities returned in feeds. These tools also generate properties on the entity container class for the collections that are exposed as feeds by the service. Each of these properties of the class that encapsulates the data service return a DataServiceQuery. Because the DataServiceQuery class implements the IQueryable interface defined by LINQ, the WCF Data Services you can compose a LINQ query against feeds exposed by the data service, which are translated by the client library into a query request URI that is sent to the data service on execution. Note: The set of queries expressible in the LINQ syntax is broader than those enabled in the URI syntax that is used by OData data services. A NotSupportedException is raised when the query cannot be mapped to a URI in the target data service. For more information, see the Unsupported LINQ Methods in this topic.
Data architecture is an area in which the optimal degree of isolation for a SaaS application can vary significantly depending on technical and business considerations. Experienced data architects are used to considering a broad spectrum of choices when designing an architecture to meet a specific set of challenges, and SaaS is certainly no exception. We shall examine three broad approaches, each of which lies at a different location in the continuum between isolation and sharing
The Open XML SDK provides tools for working with Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. It supports scenarios such as:
- High-performance generation of word-processing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Document modification, such as adding, updating, and removing content and metadata.
- Search and replace content using regular expressions.
- Splitting up (shredding) a file into multiple files, and combining multiple files into a single file.
- Updating cached data and embedded spreadsheets for charts in Word/PowerPoint.
gRPC Service with .NET 7
In this video we build a gRPC service with 5 methods: Create, Read (single), List (multiple), Update and Delete. We then employ JSON transcoding (a new feature added in .NET 7) to allow our gRPC service to act as a REST based API. This allows web-based endpoints to consume our service, while at the same time continuing to allow native gRPC clients to consume as well.
